Natural settling can occur over time especially on newly renovated or pushed up surfaces such as tee boxes. This week we leveled our back member's tee on 2. This process consists of a few steps which involve the stripping of existing sod, adding new material to meet the desired grade, and replacing sod. The use of a laser level ensures an even and consistent grade. For this project, only half of the tee sod needed to be removed in order to add new material. We used the existing grade of the good half and added new material to the low side to match. On the low side we added nearly 5 inches of construction sand mix. In order for proper surface drainage, a 1% slope is necessary. After the sod begins to root successfully, we will topdress the tee to ensure a smooth and level tee.
