This week we performed our spring aeration practice on the greens. This is an especially important practice for the springtime, it consists of 1/4” in diameter tines with 3 inch spacing at a depth of 2 inches. These tines will remove a plug which then will be top dressed and dragged to help fill the holes back in. We will then blow the remaining sand and debris off with also including a roll to bring back playability. This aeration practice helps reduce compaction and promotes an increase in water and air flow within the soil creating a healthier rootzone.
