Course Update 5/7/24

We'll be adding over 60 tons of sand to our bunkers over the coming weeks. This will improve sand depths and provide a fresh look for the aging sand.

Over time, sand levels decrease due to a few different reasons. The heavy winds we experience throughout the year blow some of the sand out of the bunkers. This is particularly prevalent during periods of dry weather. The other main source of sand loss is due to golf shots. Sand is often sent out of the bunker during golf shots, particularly around the green. Over time, sand levels will decline to a point where the subsurface is exposed. To combat this, we add sand to our bunkers every year. Ideally, a bunker would have anywhere from 5 to 8 inches of compacted sand throughout. Unfortunately, due to the shallow bedrock found throughout our property, many of our bunkers are too shallow to accommodate that much sand. Some of the most shallow bunkers can only hold 3 to 4 inches of sand.
