Needle-tine Aerification

This morning we completed our first needle-tine aerification of the season. We use a solid tine, 1/4" in diameter to poke holes into the top 2" of the green surface. WE roll directly behind the aerifier to help smooth the surface. The holes are very tiny and will not negatively effect putting quality. We holes should disappear after just a day or two.
This process helps get air down to the roots during the warmer and often wet summer months. This will help us maintain healthy roots going into July. We will go through this process one more time during the latter half of June.
