Poa annua seedheads

I'm sure many have noticed an increase in Poa annua seedhead production this spring. We have decided to forego our seed head prevention application this year to help us increase our bent grass populations. When Poa annua produces seeds, it uses up a lot of stored carbohydrates that would typically be used for normal vegetative growth. The production of seedheads will stress the Poa annua and help give our bent grass populations a competitive advantage throughout the season. These seed heads are temporary and will start to disappear over the next few weeks.
